- Electric Toasters Speech Evaluation Contest: 3/7/2012, all club members in good standing are welcome to compete. The winner will compete in the Area Evaluation contest and can advance to the Division and District Evaluation contests.
- Electric Toasters International Speech Contest: 3/14/2012, open to club members in good standing that have completed at least 6 speeches in the CC manual. The winner will compete in the Area International Speech Contest, and can advance to the Division and District Contests, as well as the Semifinal and Final International Speech Contests which will be held at the Toastmasters International Convention in August in Orlando, Florida.
- D7 Networking Event: Saturday, 3/17 at the Frog Pond Church in Willsonville. The event starts at 8:30. This is a great opportunity to share the successes from your club and learn about other clubs success. Hear updates on our district and meet candidates who are running for district position for the 2012-2013 year. Please register for the March Networking Event here.
- The Area 71 / 74 International Speech and Evaluation Contest: 3/19/2012, 6:30 pm (Contestants and judges arrive at 6:00 for pre-contest briefings and selection of speaking order), Terwilliger Plaza, 2545 SW Terwilliger Blvd., Portland, OR. - Judges Training: 2/27/2012 , 6-8 PM, the Beaverton Library (2012 123 Sw 5th Street, Beaverton, OR) with Le Snelling, District 7 Toastmasters’ Chief Judge.
- Officer training deadline: 2/29, 2012, a minimum of 4 officers must receive training for DCP credit (Distinguished Club Program).
- Leadership'11: November 5th, Oregon Convention Center

- Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) - Club Officer Training: June 18th. Officers must attend to receive training credit toward the 2011-2012 distinguished Club Program. Training is one of the top requirements of being an officer. Remember, according to your officer's manual, when you accepted the office, you committed to attend training as well as your other duties. But also, the goal of being a Toastmaster is to grow professionally and gain knowledge. As a leader, you will learn valuable skills to make your job easier and successful. Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) is open to all members. Individuals interested in becoming officers in the future should take advantage of this opportunity to find out more about the roles and responsibilities. TLI is happening at the Con-way Transportation facility for the second time. Located at 2055 Northwest Savier Street, Portland, Oregon 97209. We had a great success with our Winter TLI event and with the great feedback about the facility are delighted to be back again at Con-way. Just a reminder, Con-way Transportation is a secured facility. Please arrive early to ensure that you are ready to start promptly at 8:30.

- International Speech Contest: March 2, 2011 12:00 PM, Electric Toasters Club joins more than 12,500 Toastmasters clubs from around the world participating in the 2011 Toastmasters International Speech Contest this month. It is the world’s largest speech contest, with more than 30,000 presenters in 113 countries vying to become the next World Champion of Public Speaking. The contest is free and open to the public. The International Speech Contest begins at the local club level and proceeds through the area, division, district and final levels. Eighty-two district semifinalists compete during the four-day 2011 Toastmasters International Convention held Aug. 17-20, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Nine contenders make it to the final round on Aug. 20, where the winner is crowned the Toastmasters World Champion of Public Speaking.

- District 7 Nominations: March 20, 2011, This is the time to start thinking about our leaders for next year. This is a call for candidates for the following offices which will be elected at the Spring Conference Business Meeting on May 7, 2011: District Governor, Lt. Gov. Education and Training, Lt. Gov. Marketing, and all Division Governor positions. Current District Officers can serve two consecutive terms. Deadline for submission of nominations is March 20, 2011.

- Toastmasters International Board Meeting: February 19, 2011 10:00 AM. It's your chance to see Toastmasters International operate at the International level and meet the future leaders of Toastmasters! This Saturday, February 19 at 10am, the 2010-2011 Board of Directorsare having their meeting in District 7 at the Doubletree Hotel Portland located at: 1000 NE Multnomah Street, Portland, Oregon, 97232. It's the first time that all Toastmasters members are able to view the board meeting. This board meeting will replace the D7 Networking Event this Saturday so our members can attend this historical event.
